Melon/ink (trading as Ravecho) ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Ravecho application and website ("Service"), how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights in relation to it. This policy is compliant with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Account data. Ravecho uses anonymous authentication by default, so you do not need to provide an email address or create an account to use the app. If you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe collects your payment details directly; we never see or store your card number or full payment information.
Conversation data. Your chat messages with AI characters are stored locally in your browser. If you are signed in, conversation history is also stored in our Firestore database so it persists across your devices. We do not sell, rent, or share your conversation content with third parties for marketing purposes.
Voice data. If you upload a voice sample (for example, to create a family member voice clone), the audio is transmitted to our voice synthesis provider (Alibaba Cloud DashScope) to generate a synthesised voice profile. We store only the resulting voice ID in our database, not the original audio file. The audio is processed solely to provide the voice cloning feature and is not used to train AI models.
Usage data. We may collect anonymised, aggregated usage data (such as which features are used and general performance metrics) to improve the Service. This data is not linked to individual users.
Device and technical data. We may collect standard technical information such as your browser type, device type, operating system, and IP address for security and performance purposes.
Cookies and local storage. We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your conversations or voice data to train AI models.

Some of our service providers are located outside Australia, including in the United States and China (Alibaba Cloud). When your data is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion of your account or data, we will action that request within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain certain records.

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no internet-based service can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
